Primal Lifestyle

Primal living (or paleo if you will) is about focusing on real, whole foods that our body has been designed over millennia to thrive on (vegetables, meat, fish, eggs, nuts, fruit and healthy fats) and avoiding foods that cause unhealthy reactions in our bodies (grains, sugar, some dairy, legumes). It’s about leaving behind chronic cardio and over-training, and focusing on moving slowly, lifting heavy things, and sprinting once in a while.

My favorite blogs:

Whole9 – Dallas and Melissa Hartwig’s Whole30 challenge is what inspired this blog.

Mark’s Daily Apple – Mark Sisson’s book The Primal Blueprint was my ticket into the paleo lifestyle.

The Paleo Solution – Robb Wolf knows everything about everything and his podcasts are entertaining.

Eating Academy – Dr. Peter Attia will give you the skinny on how nutrition impacts your health and performance.

Wellness Mamma – Katie is a super-awesome lady who shows you how to live more naturally.

Chris Kresser – Looks at common myths about health with an entertaining podcast.

Dr. Michael Eades – I recommend following Dr. Mike on twitter. His tweats are entertaining and informative.

Nom Nom Paleo – Great paleo recipes in beautiful photos. Funny story – I am a fan of P90X (and Insanity) and I stumbled upon some hilarious reviews on a blog called Fitbomb (Michelle’s husband). That’s where I actually learned about paleo for the first time. His paleo page led me to Mark Sisson and the rest of them.
